The purpose of this course to help healthcare providers be prepared for emergencies.

SUPERSTAR
The content of this course focuses on key strategies that can be used to develop a functional emergency preparedness program that will meet regulatory requirements. This course identifies the types of healthcare organizations that are required to adhere to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid regulation and its respective components. The process of conducting a risk assessment and how to apply the results is discussed. Learners are engaged in identifying resources outside of their organization that they may partner with in the case of an emergency. Healthcare provider obligations to people who are not under their care also is discussed. After taking this course, you should be able to: ·  Describe the four core components for developing an emergency preparedness plan. ·  Identify the four steps to hazard risk assessment. ·  Develop a framework for your organization's emergency preparedness plan. ·  Implement an emergency program checklist to identify your organization's compliance needs. ·  Recognize the required components of an emergency plan that is compliant with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation.
